After ten years away from the Miss Universe pageant, Botswana makes a return with Dr. Thanolo Keutlwile as Miss Universe Botswana 2024. She won the title on the 21st of September 2024, aiming to be in Mexico by November. Hopefully, she can go higher than the previous queen who made Top 5 in 2023.

The first thing we should know is that Dr. Thanolo Keutlwile is multi talented. She is excellent on stage as a model and a pageant queen. She was Miss Africa Golden 2022/3- last year, Top 5 Finalist at Miss Bostwana 2021, Best National Model 2019 and Best Model at Fashion Without Borders 2018. In addition, MUB ’24 Thanolo Keutlwile, is a medical doctor. Working both jobs is highly tasking. And it is genius that she is able to excel in both professions simultaneously. Pari passu that is what it is, right? So she works as a doctor, a model, a career pageant contestant and serial winner.

Also, Dr. Keutlwile runs a project called Kgothala, which focuses on motivating and being the best of oneself. Even as the hollder of this latest title, she hopes to inspire girls in Botswana and around the world. With the focus on who you are and not what you look like, is why she is wearing a bald head.

Plus Dr. Thanolo Keutlwile is the first medical doctor featuring in this pageant. There are a few Masters degree holders though, thus emphasizing the beauty with a purpose theme which has caught on for almost a decade.
