Nigeria has lost the gold she won at the Commonwealth Games in the 4×100 relay race in August 2022. The formal stripping was announced on the 15th of July 2023.
The four young members of the Nigerian female team, were subjected to the mandatory drug use test. Sadly, it was detected in the blood of one of them and the discovery was announced a few days after the race.
Thankfully, the other members of the team have gone on to more winning streaks and proven their innocence beyond doubt.
