Between the years 1988 to the two thousands, one of the female athletes who brought focus to Nigeria was Miss Falilat Ogunkoya. She dominated the 200m, 400m and even 100m race.

She won medals at the Olympics and Commonwealth games. She made a difference.

Falilat was one of the female athletes Africa needed to inspire the young girls coming up with stars in their eyes. And hope in their spirits.

Her name rang through many African homes. If Falilat can do it, so can I was what little girls had in their heads. They put everything they had in everything they did to achieve great success. Shortly after her, Chioma Ajunwa rose from the obscurity of her day job.
